Taking the motor to the dyno in the morning. Not sure if i will get a power pull, i am working afternoons and have no idea how long it takes to hook up the motor. But i hope to start it, adjust lifters, and change the oil. I have Thursday and Friday to tune.

Just came back from the dyno 580tq@4900- 626hp@6600. Did not have time to try any changes today, but hopping to see 650hp. Ran the motor with the tune i had when i raced it last year.

The tq at 4000rpm was 515 (were my converter flashes) and at 6500rpm was 501 ( we stopped the pull at 6700). Going by 500rpms the average 541tq. The hp at 4000rpm was 392 and at 6500 was 620. The average comes out to 540hp.

See That's what I'm talking about. That thing pulls 500 lb/ft of torque baby for 2500 rpms and well over 500 hp for the same amount of time. Good #'s for the first pull. I'll bet we see peak-675hp.
BTW-Who's dyno? Matheos?

Yes, it was Mike Matheos dyno.

All done and the results are in, peak tq was 592@4800 peak hp was 654@6700. We had been starting the pulls at 3800, and the tq started there at 505 and stayed in the 500s to 6700rpm were it was 512, it was 492 at 6800. The hp at 4000rpm was 412 and at the other end at 6900 was 638hp. We stopped the pulls at 7000. We tried going to 7300 for the first time on my first pull this morning, but the motor started breaking up. He said he never had a motor over 7000rpm on his dyno, he always stops the pulls when it quits making power. Even his 1250hp motor(on motor!). BTW, got the 654hp on my last pull. :)

I have to pick up the motor tommorow, anyone want to help? Not much to do to take it off the dyno, about 45min.

I even heard about it and I was on vacation. You forgot the most impressive point, it was on 93 octane! Mike was impressed and he is not an easy man to impress. Nice #'s it should do well at the track. Are you coming out to QRC August 11?

Thanks Scott.
I think the carb could use a little more tune also, but ran out of time. Can't spray it, so JE says, the top ring land is only .180. I would say if the tune was pefect, maybe a 100 shot.
