So I would say he was a good driver, this year wasn't good for him but we'll see what he does with a new trans and better gears. dude im 22 years old, got my own house, and pay for all my own stuff, I sell cars for a living, My parents have nothing to do with what I have, they never bought me a car, never paid my insurance never anything, my bills are more than you make. So i dont wanna hear it. Dont open your mouth until you know the whole story. and the reason i bought my car instead of built it, is because its cheaper that way and financially smarter. i got 30500 dollars into my car including the brand new purchase price. I had a 95 GT that i was going to build, dart block, trick flow heads, intake 8.5.1 pistons, ed curtis cam, t trim, tremec 600 transmission, 410 gears, 33 spline axles eaton posi unit, centerlines, custom dyno tune, but you know how much it was gonna cost when i figured it all out? nearly 20,000 dollars, into a 5000 dollar car, and if i went to sell the car it would be worth 10,000 max, so i got a car with nearly equal performance AND A WARRANTY! for just over 30,000 with mods. Also the car is still worth 26,000. This isnt my first rodeo and since the age of 16 ive owned 32 cars, most of them being mustangs and trans ams. I will list the cars if you like

well im not uneducated, i went to youngstown state, degree in physical education, couldnt get a job in the field around here, and it doesnt make very good money, ive always liked cars and got into it. nothings wrong with being in sales. my car I dont even consider fast, its not fast until it hits 10s, the amazing thing about my car is its pretty much the way it came from the factory ran an 11.72 @ full weight and an 11.67 with some weight removed, it drives to the track all the time, and i drive the car everyday, theres not many people who can say that. and it has never broke with over 250 passes on it.

People need to quit thinking they need taught how to do everything to make a living, most of ya work on your cars because of deep interest, if ya would show the same interest in learning a career instead of beer drinking the Chinese an Mexicans wouldn't be taking our jobs. Ihave been checking the weight reduction sheet i am gonna try for 3100 with me in it some of those guys are in the 2700-2900 but thats with the bumper bars out and chromemoly cages and the whole front suspension tubular it will be a couple years before that and i cant wait i hear speed glass is trying for dot certification if so there goes 350lbs of windows cause the back window is heavy and if i need to i will add some ballast back there

I'm at roughly 3390lbs with me in it right now. Still have some things to remove like umm gas??? I weighed 3475 with a full tank of gas and me in it at QCR - have since removed both factory seats and soon to follow will be the ABS and passenger air bag. After that I have to start looking into tubular front suspension/k member, pin on hood, lightweight wheels, and who knows what else.

I've heard that the 00-02 LS1 gas tanks are composite and weigh 22lbs lighter than the aluminum or steel tanks that are in my car? May research that one some more too.

Cage is going to add some weight back into the car.

Kevin always said his car was heavy for a Vega.
We were at the super chevy event at Norwalk and i just made a pass with my Monte, and stopped and put it on the scale on my way back to the pits, it said 3750#s with out me in it, which is right. I have weighed my car MANY times before at Norwalk and Quaker and the scales are both the same.
So i am now sure the scale is accurate. I get back to the pits and tell Kevin we need to put that "heavy" Vega on the scale (since i can't believe a Vega could weigh so much). He said jump in, we put it on the scale (car alone) and i could not believe it was so heavy. I don't remember the exact weight, but it was over 3100#s for sure!

Mines a 76 they are actually heavier than the 71-73 models.Extra crash bracing and crap.My 72 weighed 2680 with out me in it.It's a street car and i really don't want to gut it.I'm hoping going to the V6 takes some weight off the nose so it handles a little better.
Right there i know what everyones thinking,V6 gots to be lighter,but remeber i just added a large front mount intercooler ,a turbo,and a bunch of electronic crap to the front of the car.
