Thanks Paul - it's close - I need to concentrate on the suspension over the Winter so I can cut better 60's. Maybe drop some more weight - still far away from you really fast guys but i'm not complaining :)

42 was hooking hard today

1.66
1.68
1.69

Pretty good - and I have to take it easy on my crappy 10bolt. Would like to get suspension and a 12bolt under this thing and launch it harder.

That 8.8 is Fords imatation of Chevys 12 bolt, I have read that they even use a couple of bearings of the same part#. It a good rear end Lucky, now that 10 bolt if its a 7.5 is not very strong. Should last if ya footbrake though, I ran mine to 1.55/60ft last year, sold it to Frank(blue monte at Sunset) an hes still running it in the 12s somewhere.

I looked into an 8.8 swap myself - our 7.5" GM rear suck big time. Owning 6 Fox 'stangs I kinda got spoiled with a good rear - the 8.8 is strong

GET A 12 BOLT!!! At least to me, it would not feel the same as going to the dark side's rear end :pee: jk, you can get a 8.8 cheaper than a 12 bolt (moser one at least), dunno... its up to you

Looking into either a 12bolt housing or 9" housing - can get them cheap(ish) for like $600

Still a hit - 3 kids, wife(cha-ching), 2 car payments, mortgage, etc..... Jesus, where's my noose?

DarkHorse

....and with that said - I have to mention this:

If not for CANTONRACER and Handyman my car would still be a 13 second ride - not that that is bad or anything but.....

So, thanks guys - in case I haven't said it enough!

well then its kinda better to get the housing axel package and just supply your own 3rd member or you got a idea for that also???? cause the axels will have to be made for the right length

Your best bet is to simply find one used IMO...I bought a Moser 12 bolt last year with 4.10's, TA cover, 33 spline, c-clips elims, etc for $1850 & $50 in gas getting it. All the options added up with delivery would be in the $2800 range new.

DarkHorse

Yeah CANTON's right - that's the best route.

For me tho - I'm poor - I would have to piece the thing together so that's why I started looking into the housings and whatnot.

You guys think you got shit rear ends, try having ford wonderful independant suspention. Every launch I just wait for that horrid sound. It's like a bomb, tic tic tic boom! I might take the rear end out of my 96 and put it in my 03. It's suppossed to be an easy swap. IRS for Live Axel rear end.Aaron you guys should stop by the shop sometime or give me a wring, shop #330 794 8950, get it 89 50 (my first fox body stang) :scratchch
