With a lot of us going to adjustable control arms this is a neat read.
Click on the baseline your suspension and adjusting preload.

One of the very few guys that are very good with suspension and will actually help you and share his knowledge. He does some good work with g-body suspensions. Improved the one gn from 27" IC to 56" or somewhere around there.

For the upper brackets you can either go with the bracket that mounts on the frame, which you'd have to go to maliburacing.com and find the guy that sells them,i think he gets like 100 bucks for them I'm not sure though. Or just get a set of no-hop bars to mount on the rear it raises the mounting point 1"-1.5", or dick miller and chris alston sells adjustable ones (they have a few settings) which are really nice but I've never priced them yet.

Do't want to go with no hop bars unless we can mount them solib.i'll do some researching.

How do you mean solid, solid as in solid bushing or solid as in welded on solid?
You can get solid aluminum bushings for the housing and then use the same solid aluminum bushing in the no-hop bars or get a set of spherical bearings for in the bars. Thats probably what I'm going to do.

Mount the no hop bars solid.by either bolting or welding. The south side bars taht are on the car do the same as no hop bars. They act like a pinion snubber and push the rear down and body up.Leaves like a frog hoping.we want the rear of the car to sqwat.

The no hop bars dont raise the rear as much as the lift bars do...from what I've heard.
get rid of the lift bars, toss the bars like i have under it with all solid suspension and put a antiroll bar on it with qa1 12 way shocks. Done & will squat. :thumb3:

GET RID OF THOSE SSM BARS. They are JUNK. Ford nine inch rearends welded for g-bodies already change the instant center because the housing is bigger and taller which in tune changes the location of the upper c/a. This moves the instant center because it changes the angle at which the bar is mounted. You can't use anti-hop bars for a-g bodies because they use the housing webbing to connect to the rearend. If you look at all the really fast a-g bodies. Look at there suspension( I have),they all use stock location lower bars(beefed up of course or aftermarket) and an adjustable upper usually mounted to the same brackets built on the 9-inch or in ScottyG's case, factory location. Put an anti-roll bar-not a sway-bar and a panhard bar of some sort to hold side to side movment it will hook on 9 inch slicks even at quaker. All the uppers do is adjust pinion angle9for u-joint purposes only) and a little bit of preload. Factory four-links work almost like pro four links to an extent.
